Motif 38: Innocence
German name: Die dritte Entsühnungsmelodie
This derivative of the Faith motif is heard in the third act. It first appears at the end of Gurnemanz's explanation of Good Friday's magic, as Kundry raises her eyes to look at Parsifal; and again as he kisses her gently on the forehead.

This motif develops into the form shown in example B, above, in which it reveals a relationship with Atonement #34.
